Timing on Race Gas, 100 octane, 110 octane
I'm tuning my GSR turbo motor (9.8:1) and I'd like to setup a couple of different maps for race gas. I'm starting with the base timing maps that a stock P30 runs, which are already more conservative than the P72 to start with. For my pump gas map I've currently got 23.5 @ 4psi, 22.0 @ 7psi and 20.5 @ 11psi and I'm running a fairly conservative 11.5 : 1 A/F
I know running 100 or 110 isn't going to do anything for me unless I change the timing and probably lean it out a bit. Does anyone have experience tuning for higher octane? What would you consider a good starting point? I was thinking 27 @ 4psi, stepping down to 25 @ 11psi, with a 12.5:1 a/f. Does that sound too agressive? I'm pretty sure it will be ok on race gas, but let me know what you guys think. BTW this is not a daily driver, just a weekend/track car... I know there are "safer" settings to use, but I'm not overly concerned with reliability.

hey bud.. i run 21 degrees total timing with 28lbs of boost and a 11.8:1 af ration on 110.. just for a comparison for ya.. really the best is different for each setup.. fill it with race gas and head to the dyno...
