what to get
i just picked up an eg hatch,it has a d15 vtec in it right now with most likely a bad piston ring.iduno if i should fix that and sell it considering it only has about 55k on it and get a d16 vtec.i also have a b16 non vtec that came with it that has about 95k on it.what motor would be better to build on?the d15 or d16.i also would like to boost it to.let me know what you think.thanks.
You didn't mention what kind of d15 or d16 you had. I know that the D16Z6 is best all around D series engine. I know the D15Y7 has some oil pump issues. Thats about all I know.
If you're going to boost a SOHC, this is a great thread:

yea im not really sure,im actually picking it up tommarow,it comes with two motors.he just told me d15 vtecand the other one is non vtec d16,ill let you know tommarow, thanks though
Someone please correct me, but I thought that the D16 came in VTEC and non-VTEC versions but that the D15 was non-VTEC in all of it's forms. Also, I thought that all B16s were VTEC and only the B17 and B18 had non-VTEC versions.

they do make d15's in vtec, the jdm d15b
he didnt mean to write b16 as it looks, he meant d16.
