Re: boost or vtec? (DxHatch99)
welcome to HT, where everything has been done, JDM is in, B series and turbo are a must do, people are a$$holes but can give an answer eventually.
vtec what?? d16 vtec, b16 vtec, b18 vtec, b20 vtec, h22 vtec
garunteed answer of both coming at you
what do you have now??
depending on engine turbo will give you more now but swap has more power options later

Re: boost or vtec? (DxHatch99)
you could do a mini-me swap for extra cheap if vtec is all you are worried about....I'd do a turbo d series though personally

Congratulations, you could whoop a b16. Like that should be an accomplishment.
With the price you paid to boost your now unreliable d series you could have done a bseries swap with bolt ons, had reliablility, and a better platform for boost in the future. Now youre stuck with youre little sewing machine and no where to go.

Re: boost or vtec? (PDM)
turbo + honda = fun car, not reliable (unless built but then its not cheap).
dohc vtec = not quite as fast (usually) but far more reliable and a little more $
You decide.

dude, not to be rude but wtf is ur issue. do you have any first hand experinece? doesnt sound liek it. if you do it corrctly, itll be safe and reliable. just b/c some people cheap out and do a half assed job, doesnt mean the ppl's car who do it right the frist time arent reliable. what do you have thats so good?

Ive had friends that have turboed d series motors. Sure its fun for the first couple weeks and then you realize youre still getting pumped by stock GSR's and so on. Can you build a D-series to put out more than a b series? Yes, but with all the money you wasted you could have done a swap and have a platform better for boost if you choose to. Why waste your money doing tests, dynos, tuning and all that other crap for a dseries. With all the money you invested into running a reliable d-series you could have bought a bseries and still have money left over for whatever you wish to do. Not to mention youre going to be running the same times with no more room for improvement. Or even buy an LS and boost that instead. But it doesnt matter because the dseries guys will always tell you to boost.
