1995 Honda civic VX stock, 205k miles, 5 speed.

Runs and starts fine, EXCEPT for when it RAINS. When it rains, about 85% of the time it will not start. It will just crank and crank, but wont turn over. When it gets dry outside, 99% of the time fires right up, idles rough for 3-8 seconds then runs fine. Ive tried starting fluid, and changing my plugs, and checking my dizzy for water/residue. Plugs look good still, dizzy appears to be dry. I was planning on getting a new dizzy, but don't want to if that is not the problem.

Any Ideas would be GRAND.

 

oem hood? any chance water is getting directly to the motor when its raining?

 

sounds like its leaking into the cab maybe onto the main relay ..

 

is OEM hood. But I was not driving during the rain, it was sitting. and it is for the most part 100% dry under the hood. dry under the hood.

Main relay is on the passenger side of the dash, correct? Ive smacked the dash a few times, but with no luck.

 

on your 95 civic..main relay is located at driver side kick panel..i think it is your main relay problem
