How do i launch my s2k perfectly?
I launch my car usually at about 6,500 rpm...i hear thats really bad for ur engine and ive had my car for only a month so i have no idea...any suggestions?
take it to 9k and drop the clutch.
then when your about to go from 2nd to 3rd gear, and your at 9k again...throw it back into first. that will really get you moving
it's the best secret know one knows dude

I would suggest that, just before redline, aggressively yank the steering wheel hard left and bang into 2nd gear with full throttle.
Make sure you're not wearing a seatbelt.

i could see this as a legit question for autoX, i dont know why everyones treating him like a flat out noob.
launching an s2k isnt all that similar to other hondas. when i raced the prelude i launched from about 3,000 and it would wheel spin until about 3500 and then pull well after that. on the s2k this isnt possible with a stock motor, youll just bog.
the theory (as far as a few autoX'ers have told me) is that you want to try to wheel spin thru most of the "pre-vtec" rpms, and then have ur tires hooking up right as vtec is engaging. ive watched a few people do it on Rcomps at my local races and it scares me to try. i too worried about my rear diff to do that.
so to get wheel spin thru the low torque area, theyve recommended launching from about 6-6500 rpm. thats double what my prelude needed on r-comps
important edit: another key thing to keep in mind is that you want no clutch slippage. at those rpm's, if you slip the clutch at all, youll glaze ur clutch real quick. for a day autoX'ing that means your done until next race. itll take a fair amount of daily driving to get the glazing worn off again.

BEST answer i have ever seen in this forum......
i rev'd mine at about 6800-7200... slip the clutch MEANING... bring it back with you DO NOT DUMP it.... you will put too much strain on the drivetrain that is already not the strongest....
with practice you will pull out well and faster then 99.99% or other ******** in S2K's or whatever car....

also should note that it helps to get good times if you are only 5'6" 140.
Talk about serious weight reduction compared to most of the S2K owners on here

I don't think the engine really cares what you do to it. It's designed to rev to 9000 rpms literally non-stop for weeks, and most stress that an engine experiences is inertial stress anyways...when the piston goes up and gets pulled down on the intake stroke. No amount of shock you can put on it will compare to the 5000 gs that the piston and everything connecting to it have to take.
The differential however, that's the thing you have to worry about. It doesn't take well to shock at all. I hear whatever you do to launch, make sure to put the least amount of shock on it as possible.
