Didnt know where to put this but I have an 97 DX Hatchback with a d16y7 when ever I shift down at high speeds I get a loud schreech or churp sounds like the clutch? Thanks.

 

is that high rpm or high speeds in general? dont shift down when the rpm is still high...

 

Heel and toe when you down shift. If you do it right you'll reduce the wear and tear on a lot of parts.

I do that as well. Just didn't know if OP would do that.

 

Well lets say im driving at 60 mph in 5th gear, i can either snag 2nd and go to 70 mph or I can catch 3rd and go passed 100mph. Both resulting in the screeching and the chirp. Thanks.

 

How many miles on the car/motor/tranny?

 

rev it up b4 u down shift and downshift slow, you sholdnt have any problems

i think if you go from 60 in fifth to second gear it's probably your car screaming for you to stop, exactly what rpm are with a d16 going 60 in second?

 

lol at this guy beating the **** out of his y7.

 

My y7 is at 6k when I shift at 70mph in 2nd. Ive seen people shift y7's at 7k and yes y7's not y8 vtecs.
