high CO and hc at idle LOW at 2500 rpms

its a 89 CRX
with a d15b7 swap........
friend just went to the ref
his car failed twice at idle
but passed with diffrent intake mani(besides 1 hose that had nowhere to go)
he failed do to high hc (max=120 he scored 255) and CO ( max= 1.00 he=4.09)
and then at 2500
on CO (max=140 he scored 16 ) HC( max =1.0 he scored =0.0)
has new cat and fairly new o2 censor
KEEP in mind it passed with intake manifold but failed visual?????

wow having some what of the same problem....passed all except high co at idle...

The high hc (hydro carbons) is tough because it can be caused by anything.
The fact that it also has high CO means it is not getting a complete burn or is too rich at idle.
Check to make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks. Are you running different injectors? What ECU are you running.

A couple of things to try.
Timing - Set it to one degree advanced above spec.( If 16btdc set to 17)
Check for proper spark plug gap.
Check dizzy cap and rotor for wear.
Replace PCV valve.
Check valve adjustment.
Do a De-carbonize treatment.
Clean air filter if dirty.
If these fail, then you might have a bad injector or two.
