idle!!!

Default idle!!!

just want to ask to make sure if its ok/safe to idle at 900 - 950 rpm at normal operating temperature...mine is currently idling at that high...

That seems a tad too high but I wouldn't worry about it. At least it's not idling dangerously low, like some people have problems with.

750 +- 50 is normal. 900 is a tad bit high...

check your cam timing. my exhaust cam was off 1 tooth causing low idle and almost no idle vacuum.

Holy crap batman, I'm idling close to 950. I better get that checked out. Is it normal to idle at 1500 right when you start the car for a minute or so?

Fast idle for cold start. then slows down to normal idle as engine warms up.

Sounds pretty normal to me. On OBDI Fast Idle thermal valve on TB. OBDII uses a different method for the same effect.

But sounds normal in my opinion.

thats about where mine is idling right now. guess i have to check it out too.

mine idles at around 700 at normal temp.
it's idles higher during start up and gradually drops.

Yes your idle is way high......You can adjust idle by loosening or tightening the throttle cable!! 700-850 is about where u wanna be.....I guess its rough to tell with a stock tach, praise god for VAFC!!
