hey guys i have a wired idle problem, when ever i press the clutch to come to a stop, or to go into neutral, my idle drops down to 500 rpms and pops back up quickly to 650 or 750rpm (normal idle). I cleaned the idle air control valve, and it still does it. Do you guys have any insight into this

any vacum leaks and codes. the fast idle valve is on cold start up but it could be that...as i delt with the same ****. so just put your finger over ther whole in the throttle body and if it idles normal then thats your prob. mgags made a nice read up on idle bouncing. search for it

it only does it when i go into neutral, when moving or coming to a stop
what other things affect the idle in this situation?
It doesn't happen when i am standing still.

Yea it is sooooo annoying. Do you think there's a way to fix the problem? And does it hurt the motor, when it does this??

Hey, I have noticed the same thing happen every time i release the clutch or even release the gas pedal. I think it has some thing to do with the removal of the factory intake hose and resonator. Once we change gear or release the gas pedal, the throttle's valve closes and shuts of the throttle body from the air intake pipe and allows little free flowing air to pass. Its almost like the longer pipe length and wider than factory diameter intake pipe doesn't promote flow of air at such low Rpm's and hence the vacuum or suction is high(probable due to the large diameter intake pipe and the lack of air reserves(the small black loop thing'y that runs down the bottom of the factroy intake hose near throttle body)).
SO basiclly what im trying to say is that the car suffocates and doesn't get enough air (or fuel) and hence the drop in Rpm, but then the ECU detects this and increases air flow and fuel to recover the lost Rpm. Its kindoff like being at sea drifting around, every time your head goes under (the Rpm drops) u lack air and then respond to that by trying to resurface (using energy-maybe fuel) and getting your head above sea level again (ECU innervating to raise Rpm). Well thats my logic behind it any way. Factory ludes tend not to do it, so im gona put this one on bolt on's. Thats all i could come up with, dont know if it damages the engine, probably not due to the ecu preventing stalling or a significant rpm drop.
