when taking off from 1st to 2nd gear, is it normal for car to slide so much?
ahah im so use to this, i wonder if its just suppose to be different for an s2k ..
all the prevs tegs / eg's / ek's ive driven / raced i know when shiftin from 1st to 2nd at redline quickl, u would usually slide / jerk to a certain side for some reason..
but i was just assuming "oh s2000, expensive car, rwd ! " maybe it wouldnt,
but it always Slides alot whenver i shift from 1st to 2nd redline, IE hit 9k, shift, chirping & sliding to the left..
kinda feels unsafe maybe ??
btw im on ESPELIR springs & Advan RG's in MR2 offset, could that be the problem?
i dont think i ever remember it happening on my OEM stock wheels.. but i cant remmber for certain..

my car dsnt swerve or anything when driving normally, and previous owner had an alignment done to it before he sold it to me. the only thing i changed was the wheels.

was the car already dropped when you got it, or did u put the springs on after? u should always get an alignment after dropping it
what tires are you running? Are they completely warmed up when this situation happens.
hell i can get a stock ap1 with cold cheap tires to chirp or break loose going into 3rd

1. Check tire pressure
2. Alignment, you just stated that you got new wheels. So new wheels = different offsets + (possible) different tires. Which in return means you need another alignment.

my tire pressure is good,
others said new wheels wouldnt need alignemnt, but maybe they are wrong?
the tires were pretty warm, about 20 miles of freeway driven before situation
yeah car was alreay dropped when i got it, only thing suspension wise was was changing the wheels
or am i just shifting too hard and just dropping the clutch , or could it be involved withs omething with my clutch? (OEM clutch /w 120k miles)

Keep in mind that the offsets on your wheels are significantly lower than those of the OEM wheels. You're running an a completely different and wider track than before. Get an alignment.
I would suggest that, just before redline, aggressively yank the steering wheel hard left and bang into 2nd gear with full throttle.
Make sure you're not wearing a seatbelt.

dood a decently powered RWD car will toss the rear to one side or another if the tires break loose.... also tire type plays a factor.... mine would throw itself to the left at times....
its nothing
its nothing

Maybe left and right! Practicing car control is cool!

Do you see F1, IndyCar, ChampCar, Prototypes, et al "kick their rear ends out" every time they shift from 1st to 2nd?
No you don't.
Why? Because they are piloted by "drivers", not hammerheads.

ditto. the jerking is called torque steer and no lsd on a fwd ftl. but never will the rear kick out.
