Default D15b not going into vtec, no CEL.....

What could cause a D15b with p28 ecu to not go into VTEC? I had my car dyno'd this week and found out that it's not going onto the big lobes.

The car has not had a check engine light since I wired VTEC 2 years ago.
The car seems to run well.
The car runs a solid 12.8 to 1 A/F ratio, slightly rich due to the p28 mapping, but ok.
The car was up to temp during dyno pulls.

This car is very well taken care of, I just need to figure out why my power peak was at 5050rpm. What checks does the ECU do that would keep it from going into VTEC but wouldn't throw a CEL light?

Thanks,
Doug

How's your oil?

I assume your speedometer, tachometer, and coolant temperature guage work?

Everything on the car works great. The car has a full fill of Mobil 1 synthetic. I give this car the best I can. It's not my daily driver.

Aside from a mechanical failure, I'm stumped.

You can hook a 12V source to the solenoid and listen for the click.

Yeah, looks like I'll have to wire up one of those vtec lights to see if everything electronic is working. If it all is, I'll have to look into mechanical issues.

Back to the top. I still haven't figured this one out.

Again: No CEL, Vtec doesn't work, D15b never opened up, P28 ECU

Yes, it was. I beat it back out a bit and it's still the same. I have one in perfect shape, but I need to get a gasket for it. I also have an oil pressure gauge, but I still need to get a pillar pod for it.
