indentify b16 head?
well i'm soon gettin a b16 swapped into my car. the block clearly says b16a2 and i'm aware that comes from the em1's. but the guy at the shop said he had replaced the valvesprings and retainers for the head, and it has a jdm valve cover (does not necessarily mean its jdm).
is there anyway i can tell whether its a jdm head vs the b16a2 head just from lookin on the outside?
i thought there would be some japanese writing on the camgear cover, but mine is just black with no writing.

lol i know a couple guys who does it on the side. theyll charge roughly 500-600 + fees for fluids and such. shops will charge closer to 800 i beleive of course unless you got hook ups.

pistons and a different ecu make for the power difference in jdm b16's. there may be a slight difference in cams from the first and second gen heads though.

yeah yeah. i know 89-91 b16a is Gen1 and 92-95 b16a is Gen2. but what i was asking was when you get the actual engine, how can you tell if its REALLY a Gen1 or Gen2?
