Default Which Intake Manifold Gasket To Use?

I have a '99 DX that underwent a Y8 manifold swap from a '98 EX

I initially used a Felpro D16Y7 gasket from AutoZone

After the car was fired up, there was a huge intake leak, so I scrapped that gasket and went to buy another one

I then used the same brand D18Y8 gasket which seemed to seal it alot better, but there was still a leak (checked with Carb Cleaner). I decided to just seal it with RTV silicone and forget about it. But now the leak is back

I now want to buy an OEM or a Hondata gasket

So my question is

Which one do u recommend, and if i go with the OEM, do i get it for a y8 or a y7?????

Go with the Hondata. It's thicker and also non-heat transferable so it will slightly lower your intake air temp! Plus it's like $50 so you can't go wrong.

Get an intake manifold for the 98 Y8, it will block off the injector ports. Also what TB/IAC are you running? If your still running the y7 ecu you wont get a good idle without the 3P IAC.

Well the reason i was asking for what car is because the gaskets are different

Heres the 1st one I used which is like the hondata d series one:

And heres the one that is currently on the car that sealed better than the 1st one (oddly enough this is for a 99-00 EX)

I do have the manifold for a 98 Y8, and i am using my Y7 throttle body with the stock 3 wire IACV

yea you can go wrong with that... 50 bucks compared to like 20... unless its turbo the fact that its non-heat transferable and thicker will make no difference
