I'm not going to click on the link since I'm at work, but is that the flange where the turbo bolts to the manifold? If so, just make sure both are flat and don't even worry about a gasket. Many people don't use them on here and I stopped using them about 1.5-2 years ago because I was tired of them leaking and crap.

no gasket...i dunno. i dont think two sold 1/2 flanges will seal perfectly. im thinking about making my own gaskets out of a copper sheet if i can.

I was skeptical at first too about not using a gasket. It does seal perfectly though...as long as the flanges aren't warped or anything. But if they are warped, then even a gasket won't help you seal it.

Think of it like this...what do you have to lose trying it without a gasket. All you're out is the 10 minutes it takes to put the turbo and piping back on. Then just start it up for like 10 seconds and feel around with your hand for any leaks. I truely does work though.

If you are blowing out gaskets you have a warped flange. Take a straight edge and lay it on the surfaces you are having issues with and shine a light on the other side if you see light under the straight edge, surface that flange and you will have no more issues. The gasket on the link is a thin gasket and will not work well on a warped flange. The copper gasket will cause more warping also. If it is thick enough it will work for a little bit.

Fix it right the first time, just take it to a machine shop and have it surfaced.

how do you guys usually seal from the manifold to the head? i think this is why i was having lag issues because the back of the gasket was totally wrecked and i couldnt see it.

Just using a gasket from the head to manifold will do. If it's leaking there too, then a resurfacing on that flange is likely required.

I've always used an OEM gasket

No gaskets here as well, but I give it a coat of copper spray before I assemble the pieces together.

i made a copper gasket out of very thin gauge sheet of copper and a scrill saw, then sprayed it with the copper spary and had no issues...

if you have a nice belt sander you can resurface your turbo and manifold pretty easily..good luck!
