... i dont have the gasket that goes between the manifold and the turbo... is it absolutely necessary?... can i go without it?... if not, what can i use instead?... one of my domestic friends says that i can use a regular paper gasket and spray it with chrome spray paint and then use some high temp silicon gasket maker and i should be fine... anyone have any ideas?... lemme know... thanks...

i don't get people thinking like this...

why don't you use a stock gasket that comes with the turbo...

did you notice your stock manifold to the engine head, it comes with a M E T A L gasket.. there are the same type of gaskets for your turbo inlet... 100% sure there are cuz my IHI RHb5 subaru has one

and if you can't get that gasket (hells know why) get your manifold's outlet gasket.. if you are using the hf manifold or whatever, get one from honda

it kills me to see people using paper gaskets when right there in front of you there is a metal gasket connecting to your engine head...

Stock Gasket that comes with the turbo? A lot of turbo's i know don't come with a gasket that goes in between the manifold and turbo. A good amount of people just put the turbo onto the manifold and let the carbon do the sealing.

1.8T_EG: Its not absolutely necessary and I know there are a lot of people using the high temp paper gaskets you are talking about. If you really want one that bad, Road Race Engineering has them. http://www.roadraceengineering...s.htm

I personally got one .
