There is only 1 hamp oil filter right? 1 version i mean

yeah me too, just didn't want to buy 10 filters and then find out they don't work on my car.

All honda filter threads are the same, only difference is can size

In theory the filter inside should be different, the larger the canister the larger the surface area of the filter inside it. Sometimes though the larger canister simply hides the fact that the same size filter is being used as a smaller model. Marketing wonks suck.

All things being equal, larger filter elements should yield slightly lower oil pressure, and smaller filters slightly higher.

Over a certain oil pressure the bypass valve inside the filter lets oil flow through unfiltered, so I don't entirely understand why you'd want to make that window of filtration smaller, at least for a daily driver.

In Googling while looking for a discussion of Hamp filters I came across this link.

 

the RSX oil filter from hamp when used on a b-series will bump up oil pressure by 5 psi with no added restriction.

questions but y would u want higher oil pressure?
or lower for that matter?

 

because VTEC works mostly off oil pressure, i'm trying to think of the best way to put this....think of it as a squirt gun, more pressure the more water force you will have, this is better for higher revving engines that need the oil and need it quickly.
