Default ? on vtec on a d16z6 built

i have a d16z6 built by the previous owner in a 94 coupe, i was wantin to no when the vtec is suppose to kick in, cant hear it cuz the muffler has a leak from hell, it redlines at 8500. thnx

u cant feel vtec on a D im sry.. you really dont even hear it that much.. only way i know when vtec kicks the turbo starts to spool up

to the OP: 8500rpm on a D-series? Ive heard of people pushing the envelope before... but damn.

it should be around 4800, but if your reving to 8500 its more than likely that the ecu is chipped. which from what ive seen usually moves it up to around 5800. id do the vtec light like everyone else is sayin.
