Default b18a1

What is the highest amount of boost you can run on a stock block? If you run 12 lbs of boost, what is the longevity of the motor? If you build a b18a1 with all the supporting mods without changing the sleeve on 12 lbs of boost, how long will that motor last? supporting mods like arp head studs, forge pistons, valve spring and retainers, rods,........ what do you think???

250whp is about the max i'd shoot for on a stock b18a, depending on condition. psi doesnt matter. hp breaks **** not psi.

longevitiy is all in the build, tune, and maintenance.

search...this question has been covered too many times

what matters is not psi but how much whp youre actually making. as for a stock block theres no way to really know how long it will last but a good tune should keep it together for quite some time with quality parts IF the motor is in good condition. for a properly built motor with a good tune they should last quite a while.

a lot of things break when people want to crank up the boost because they just get bored of a power level after a while.

does it have to sleeved? I am just trying to run 12 psi no more no less. and i think i have most of the supporting mods.

did you read the two previous posts? get this psi number out of your head now. determine a power goal.

for the mods that i have, i would like 300. would this be a realistic goal? because i was told the block/ sleeve would not be able to handle it.

the sleeves are good for up to 350-400whp if you feel like pushing your luck. stock pistons and rods wont handle that kind of hp level for long.

stock sleeves will hold 300whp just fine. if youre doing rods/pistons than you could probably take trips to 400whp every so often.
