Default boost gauge help? (stupid noob question)

I recently purchased an autometer mechanical boost gauge and wanted to put most of it together before putting it in my car. Now, how the hell are you supposed to secure the nylon line to the guage? Even the instructions aren't helping me out here.

Am I missing something, or am I just having a brain fart?

there should be a nipple on the back of the gauge, just slip the tubing over that. zip-tie it for good measure so it doesnt come off

for another turbo'd 4th gen!!!

the autometer comes with compression fittings and the nylon line if I am not mistaken.

a quick google search yielded this

There's no nipple on the gauge. The only parts I have are the adapter that screws into the back of the gauge, a compression screw, which looks pretty damn useless as it doesn't compress anything at all, and a 6ft nylon line, T fitting and rubber nipple thing that holds the nylon line to the T fitting..

I feel like such an idiot not knowing this ****. So frustrating!

the threads on one of the fittings is more than likely 1/4" NPt or 1/8" NPT. Go to the hardware store, but an 1/8" NPT barbed fitting, some rubber line, and then work with that

the compression fittings will work if you decide to use them, but I have also been told that the small line may lead to 'boost gauge lag'. But, I can't speak confidently on that, its just hearsay.

send me pics if you get confused

I still don't get it. There's no nipple on the gauge, all I've got it the adapter that screws to the back of the gauge, and the little useless nut with a 1/8" hole on the back that the lines goes through, the actual line, a T-fitting and a rubber nipple thing that the line connects the line to the T-fitting

Again, how's the line supposed to hold on to the adapter? It makes no sense.

I'm starting to think that I'm missing something that was supposed to be in the gauge's packaging now.

I've looked on google, autometer and on here to see if there's a write-up as to how people put the line in, but nothing.

Thanks for the help!

It turns out I didn't have the compression fitting, hence why the line wouldn't stay in the adapter. I picked one up from a spare boost gauge that was lying around the shop my car was in. Everything works perfectly now!

OT, but i dont know how you guys use that crappy plastic hose they send w/ the gauge. I kinked mine every time i tried to put the gauge back in the dash. In the end, i used small diameter black rubber hose...
