where is the shift interlock located? auto to manual swap
i just got done doing the auto to manual swap and the key stays in the ignition when i try to turn the key off, my friend said that i needed to take off the shift interlock or something, is that true or not true, if so where is it at?
you need to push in on the key to get it to turn the last little bit.
the shift lock is for the auto trans to be able to take it out of park without a key in the ignition. Really just for tow truck drivers and stuff. and to answer your question it is a little slit that fits a key just off to the side of the PRND bezel.
I hope this helps, because if it doesn't I really dont have a damn clue what you're talkng about.

Its part of the automatic trans shifter assembly, It has to be gone if you have the manual shifter in or else your shifter wouldnt fit. You have to solder a couple of wires together as well to take care of the ignition part of it. The link below will tell you which wires you need to solder together.

Yup, in an automatic theres a switch in the shifter to tell the ignition the car is in park and to light up the red P in your gauge cluster. Otherwise you cant remove your keys. My dx auto is a pain in the *** to drive during the winter becuase even when its in park, the P light wont light up for a minute or two so I cant get my keys out.
