Default Tranny shifting question

Basically one day I was driving to wash my car and all of a sudden third gear would not engage. Naturally I tried to put it in gear a few times and nothing, just out of the blue it would not engage. What I noticed today while pulling my motor out is that one of the two T-bracket bolts going into the motor was missing and the other was extremely loose. My question is would this cause third gear to not engage? I did notice that with the car of or at a stop the car would go into third for the most part with no trouble at all. So it kind of makes sense to me at least that when the car was in motion the motor was moving and third gear was having trouble lining up. My only reason to think this may not be the problem is because wouldn't this happen to every gear? I did notice that night when trying to get home that every gear was getting a little harder to find... The motor and tranny a JDM ITR if it really makes a difference and the car it was in was a 99 Si. Thanks for your time.

if the trans was sitting at a really bad angle it could. i did an auto2man swap on my 90 crx, and it shifted had as expletive. but when i swapped in the b series with hasport mounts, it shifted like a stock car would. so i would say that trans angle has a lot to do with how hard it is to shift.

i would drop the tranny to look at the clutch and flywheel.

Mine did this in every gear... took it down and looked at it only to find that the pressure plate, clutch and flywheel were all bad. (NOT LIKE YOU THINK) the clutch had meat, but everything was worn down halfway.... as in an angle... finally the pressureplate could no longer operate the clutch and flywheel causing it to lock up suddenly.

I still never figured out why. everything was new except the flywheel (it was resurfaced)

I now replaced it with the same stage 2 exedy clutch, but bought a new fidanza lightweight flywheel as well.. works great.

I did do an auto to manual but im not positive thats what the problem is, i have an innovative conversion mount so it should be sitting correctly.

auto2man swap shouldn't be the problem. it might be the start of the bad angle, but thats on us for using stock mounts. especially junk yard ones that have over 100,000 miles on them...
