Default Start up Idle

I have a 97 EJ6 Coupe and the motor is a D16y7, When I would first start up my car in cold mornings or warm morning my idle would bogg down fast quick and than it seems to rumble my whole motor and than the idle would shoot right back up past to 2 grand. But if I was to step on the gas a give it a couple of Revs my Idle will be back to normal. Do you guys have any information on this? If I did not explain well enough let me know. Thanks.

That sounds like a fitv problem, Search for a thread on FITv cleaning.

X2, yea, If it were the IACv, the problem would be experienced after the car was warmed up, during the entire time it was being operated.
This topic pops up here and there, im fairly sure it has to do with your FITv.

Can someone exactly explain to me or show me a diagram on how to remove the IACv? Because im totally lost on this now. And Im curious if you guys might happen to know if a z6 intake manifold will be plug in play for my D16y7 motor? The dual point is just killing me LOL!

Correction. 96+ Intake manifolds don't have FITV's. I have a D16Y7 now and I have a FITV
