or better yet is it a plastic piece covering the actual radiator cap?

 

Get a better closer pic of the cap (or whatever it is).

Did you try removing it?

looks like an apc rad cap cover i've seena few at the local advance auto parts.

It could have been a temporary solution. Maybe he lost his old one and needed to get the car running asap.

autozone is better than a lot of other places. they've always helped me out with my beater when i needed ****. they usually have the stuff i need in stock when most others dont.

I understand but this ain't a beater and I want my previous owner to to take pride in what they've got-me I'm ****, my beater yeah put a bs cap on f-it but with a car like this....

its just a rad cap..... as long as it seals good i honestly dont see a problem with it unless it looks like opie

 

its not a cap its a cover, pop the cover off and see if its an oem cap...



i gotta give him credit at least he flat blacked it...
