D15B7 intake manifold on y7 motor
Do I gain anything (even gas millage?) by putting my old d15 intake manifold on my d16? I realize it's not much but I just have it laying around, plus the y7 is goofy, the throttle body points up.
Thanks.
Thanks.
My EXACT setup as you mention... Y7 engine with B7 manifold. I Don't know if this B7 is better than the y7 since I've never compared but I do know that the y7 manifold was meant to be more of a fuel efficient manifold rather than performance.
I only kept my B7 manifold because I did not want to convert to OBDII. Simply replacing the manifold won't work since the Y7 has different sensors I think. I know for sure that the map sensor and Idle Air Control Valve are totally different too. I'm sure the throttle cable is different. That's funny.. I have a Y7 manifold and components laying around where as you have B7 stuff laying around. Wanna swap just in case either of our stuff goes bad and need replacement?
If it were me, I'd stay where you're at.

Yep... I was about to install the Y7 manifold and noticed things didn't seem right and was told that the differences in OBD make a difference on these manifolds. Is there anything attatched to the one you have? Like the throttle bodo or anything attatched to it?
