d16Y7 intake manifold on d15b7
So I'm swapping a d16Y7 into a 95 Civic (had a d15b7). Everything looks good but the intake manifold. I've searched several forums and everyone seems to think the manifold should match up.
My thinking is to JB weld the top of the water passage and use the newer manifold gasket. Or would the gasket be enough?
Thanks for any thoughts/help.

That's not a water passage, if you pull the manifold back off you'll find it doesn't go anywhere. The only coolant passage is way over on the transmission end of the manifold.

I took a closer look and: crises solved. But it seemed to go back a way. And there was some residual radiator fluid. But that would certainly explain why no one else has had this issue!
Thanks!

on newer 99-00 the heads had air injection in that spot that would blow air over the injector to try to atomize the spray more for a more complete burn. the manifold bolts right up the coolant passage is square on 92-95 heads and was round on the 96-00. I got a y8 manifold on a z6 head that works fine. I would recommend putting some rtv around the gasket on both sides of the coolant passage to ensure no leaking there...
