Default B16 woes...

Alright so I have had my CRX for over a year now and I am starting to get annoyed from lack of torque (B16A2 Swap). And I have got all the normal bolt ons so it's time to go to the next level... Build the head, Swap in a 2.0 Bottom end, or get a turbo kit. I have a few questions maybe someone could answer for me.

B20
1) About how much should I be looking to spend for the entire swap? (Including having it done professionally)

2) Do I need to build the bottom end of the B20 to work with my 8K revving head? (So it doesn't throw a rod)

3) I have heard that the B20B has lower compression than the B20Z, if I were going all motor, would I want to get the B20Z since it would raise my compression?

Turbo
1) Is there a cheaper turbo kit I can get then the $3000 ones? (For example maybe a less feature rich one so I can work my way up)

2) Is they any safe amount of boost I can run on my stock B16A? (I know that driving the car hard obviously is going to shorten it's lifespan, but I mean substantially) If so how much?

3) If there is a safe amount of boost I can run, what kind of gains could I expect from that amount?

4) I have heard you need to get your car tuned after a turbo is installed, otherwise it can ruin an engine, is that true?

Thanks

B20
1. $500-$700 for the longblock, then another $1000ish for install?? You should really call around about this one....
2. at least put ARP rod bolts & head studs in, at the minimum. Only like $200 or less for those.
3. I don't know what causes the difference between the B & Z motors (assuming just the pistons), but regardless you'll want a Z anyway, just because it'll likely be lower mileage, and in better condition. Even if you get a B, you can always deck the block to bump compression since you'll have the head off anyway.

Turbo
1. Check the classifieds, $3000 goes a long way if you're buying a kit from an individual
2. "safe" all depends on how well the car is dialed in (tuning). 300whp on mostly stock components is the most i'd run. the engine's lifespan will be shortened significantly with a turbo, i don't care what anybody says.
3. see #2
4. TRUE. it's time to research hardcore in the 'forced induction' forum if you're serious about this.

Treadstoneperformance.com make a good turbo kit from what ive heard and all thats not included is injectors and tuning software. They are about 1800 and use a garrett or turbonetics t3 turbo. Hope this helps.
