Default B16-T To B20V-T

So Im thinking of swapping out blocks for a B20, but I keep getting mixed reviews on this subject so I've come here to see what people have actually experinced from doing this swap.

1. Other then the dowl pins and oil line, What else is really needed figuring I already have a Full, Running B16.

2. What are the pro's and Con's of this swap ( B16 turbo. B20B/Z Vtec and turbo )

3. What is better for this application, B20B or Z. I see that the B20B has less compression the the Z so I would assume the B but isn't that a little low for turbo?

4. I've read the there is EXTREMELY little piston to valve clearance and the Cyl wall are to thin to boost safely (Even though a buddy had his Turbo B20 for a long time.

After these questions if there is any other things you could inform me of please do.

Thanks

How is any thing low for turbo? Genrally you run lower cr so you can force more air into the cylinder.

I Like the idea of displacment i have a GSR 8.8cr putting down 282whp 180tq and its a beast.

As much as i like the bigger b20, B16's have potential. It would be fun to try if your bored of the b16 try it and let us know for your self

I have a B20b turbo, and love it. You can actually feel torque compared to the tiny B16. I've been pushing 10psi on my B20 for a couple months now strong. Seems to work for me...

Im trying to see what everyones experinces are with a B20 Vtec turbo before I go ahead and so this. I don't want to waste my money on a B20 when a LS would be a better choice.

If your going to reply atleast make it sound like you know what your talking about

x100. Nothing beats the feeling of our b20 turbo motors-

Strong out of boost power as well as a SICK midrange- run some 404's and your golden

my vote is b16 turbo. true it may not make tons and tons of torque, but i'm sure you can beat the living **** outta of the car and not have a worry. The b20 you will be to busy worried about cracking a sleeve or blowing it up. I'd trade power for realiability anyday. Can't enjoy what you can't drive My opinion is biased though Go with whatever you want, it's all a luck of the draw type of deal with any boosted motor. Some last years others last days! Good luck with whatever you choose man!

Well I have had pretty good luck with the B16 block, With the tune she runs I can take her to 9500 all day long and not have to worry. Some time even farther, Now Im not saying it makes any more power that far up Im just using this as an example of the durablity and luck I have had with this block. It out lasted two heads, A valve dropping in the cyl and the timing belt just broke and a valve smashed right into the cyl with out even a scratch.

Maybe I should just stick with this block and when she does finailly go take it from there
