Default VSS UPDATED... New VSS installed... PROBLEM

Ok, So I picked up a VSS from a 92-96 Prelude SI H23A1 to go with the tranny from that year. I Installed everything went smooth, bypassed the two lines on the back and just looped them together, and it still doesn't work. HOWEVER IT DOES WORK IN REVERSE.... WTF?? Does anyone have any ideas?

I just had to purchase a new tranny and it didn't come with a VSS so I need to know which VSS will work from different model trannys. I know it's an M2S4 from 92-96 H23 Prelude SI, I tried using my JDM M2A4 VSS but it's busted from when the case split. We have a pull a part close and I was thinking maybe that some accord trannys might have one that will work. Anyone have any knowledge on this. The engine is in a 93 CX Civic, but has a KMH speedo so it doesn't have to accurate, I just need vtec to work! HAHA

compare part numbers on slhondaparts, I believe many are interchangeable, the vss drive gear might be a little different, but I think even that is the same on some

depends on the motor you are running and the ecu i believe. i have a h23 tranny swapped with my h22a, but the h23 vss doesnt work. I had to find an h22 vss in order to run right.

Yeah I have the h22a and had the h22a tranny M2A4 but it came to an end. Now I have the M2S4. So you think it could be just a wrong VSS?

Well this fix is gonna be expensive for the shop that supplied the tranny, because the one that I got was screwed up. The vss driver gear that is on the differential was not secure and it just moves, so the diff is turning but the gear stays in one place. However in reverse I guess it binds up and makes the speedo work.

No... my h22a tranny exploded, they put a used tranny in for now. But since they bought it like that, they are responsible for a new tranny.
