I'm having some trouble with the AC system in my 00 Ex. Today when i turned on the AC, the car started idling all weird. It idles like its going to die, bogging the engine. It also did it when i was driving on the freeway. you can feel the engine bogging about every 3 seconds, like it is stuttering. also there is a noise, from the glovebox area, making like a blowing hissing sound, and its happens about every 3 seconds with the bogging of the engine. When i turn the AC off, everything is normal. What could the problem be?

 

hahahah its a civic the ac takes a lot power from the engine, my car does the same thing

 

the compressor could be starting to lock up or the IAC is not funtioning properly. either could be the problem. if you have prower steering then turn the wheel all the way to one side when the pump has to work the hardest then see if your idle problem still happens or does anything wierd if not more than likely the a\c compressor is binding and causing drag on the motor. even the lack of power on stock sohc the idle should stay the same regardless if the compressor is on or not
