Just checking

I've seen h22 swapped sols which we wouldn't have a clue on.

Revs up to 3500 and has CEL = limp mode would be my guess

Reason for limp mode = ?

Reason for limp mode = the code 16. When there is a problem with any significant parameter, ie your fuel or ignition, the ECU goes into limp mode. It is to keep you from running your car in an extreme condition. A non functioning fuel injector would cause a lean condition/pre ignition condition. Possible catastrophic failure at high rpm's.

Check your injectors with a stethoscope/long screwdriver wile the car is running. You should here a real fast tick...tick...tick. If you do not hear that then the injector is bad and you need to replace it.
