Default tranmission probs

i own a crx del sol (B16A).over the last few days gear changes at higher revs have become'knotchy' however at low revs and the gear changes are not so bad. when in nuetral with the clutch down all gears are fine and smooth.i have been to 4 garages and been told 3 differant things
1. replace the oil.......only done 20k ago
2.clutch is on its way out.......not slipping but done 90k
3.gear synchro is worn and needs replacing......would it go in all gears at same time?
has anybody had this problem and can anyone please help

take those suggestions and start with the cheapest, flush the trans and out in some new fluid, if that doesnt do it change the clutch, if that doesnt do anything swap the trans

You've got all the logical stuff in order, if the oil is due to be changed, do it the same time you do the clutch. When full face clutches wear out, they tend to "stick" to the flywheel because the vents that help release the vacuum holding it to the flywheel are gone. The clutch cushion spring between the two friction surfaces will also lose its spring, and cause the same thing.

Examining the clutch will help tell you if this is the case, the flywheel side of the disc, and the flywheel itself with normally have more glazing than the pressure plate side. This will point to the clutch as a culprit.

Mileage could have also taken its toll on the transmission. If you can take them apart, you can check the synchro to gear clearance and see if they are infact worn out.
