99-00 front-end conversion on a 96

It's ALL different.
You'll definitely need the '99-'00 headlights, grille, front bumper, hood and fenders. You might be better off replacing the core support too, but you could also either modify (i.e., bash in with a hammer) the '96-'98 core support and/or cut into the '99-'00 front bumper (these cuts won't be visible when the hood is shut).

The headlights are both the same size, but they're shaped differently. I guess you might be able to say the '99-'00 lights are a tiny bit larger, but it's not like the '96-'98 lights will fit in the place that the '99-'00 lights mount.

If either is thinner, it's just by a tiny tiny bit.

The coupe and sedans both have the same rear bumper, but the '96-'98 rear bumpers do not have the slight lip at the bottom that the '99-'00 rear bumpers have. The hatch rear bumpers from '96-'00 are all the same.

It's interchangeable AS A WHOLE. You can't just change the headlights for example. The rest of the thread above your post explains it pretty well.
