ever since i finished the B16A SiRII engine swap into my eg hatch.the car had not been running smooth and ran like a disel and no power at all..at first i thought the spark plugs and wires were old.so i replaced them with NGK but still the same problem existed.i have been trying so hard to find out whats wrong with the car for about a week .i rechecked all the wires and there is no CEL.so as i was about to tear down the whole engine and see if the timing was off or i need the piston o rings or new camshaft.i thought maybe the car was miss fired.
so today i went to check on the firing order on the spark plug wires on the distributor cap and guess what. number 1 and number 2 firing system were messed up.i plugged them into the right firing order and guess what. my car starts right up with smotth sound...no more miss firing sound..i was like WTF..and i took it out for the test drive and guess what.
I LOVE B16A engine.
thats all i can say.push all the way to 7200rpm and it pulls really HARD.
the car and the engine is alive.
i was so stupid to check on the most simple things first instead of almost going to tear down the engine.
i am happy.

Sorry to be a dick, but I would not drive my car if it sounded like a diesel.

Good to know you figured it out though, let it be a lesson to you not to forget your basics.

 

haha i did that once...sounded like a subaru. how come it pushes all the way to 7200? thats pretty low for a b16

 

b16's can go higher then 7200..

yeah it can be pushed at higher rpm.but i only test drove it.
i love it.
