Check the voltage of the battery. If its drained, the alternator went bad or a bad ground or connection somewhere. If you think th ecu id bad, pop off the cover and look for burn marks. If something burned, the bottem cover usually has a burn mark on the plastic.

to check the main relay, turn the key. You should a quiet hum while the CEL is on then stops when the CEL turns off. Thats the fuel pump priming.

The main relay controls the power to the ECU and fuel pump.

However, when the main relay fails, it typically fails intermittently in hot weather. Once the car is cooled back down, it should start. Also, the main relay causes a no-fuel condition but the car should still be getting spark.

If you're not getting spark, look elsewhere. You may have a bad ground or some faulty wiring.
