Ok, i know most of you know I did an auto to manual conversion, but some of you guys might not..
anyhow.... after my transmission being swapped in with a fresh one I decided to put in the shortthrow shifter and ran across this. Looks like its sitting pretty much up front and at an angle, you can see in the pictures..
My question really is.... How would I go about shifting this into the correct position..? Just bring it BACKWARDS an inch or so and drill??
Im not to sure how these are supposed to sit correctly since I converted it, its a 97 gsr shiftlinkage if it helps.
Thanks in advance..

that sucks, do ya have a place to work on it?
you should widen the hole and maybe allow the shiter to come up into the cabin
and you are going to patch where the automatic cable came into the car right? maybe a combonation of what i suggested allowing you to make a plate and some sort of braket to aloow your shifter to move

What motor do you have in there. If you have the stock D series motor you need to have D series shift linkage in there, If you have a B series motor you need B series shift linkage.

haha,
ok you guys have helped me conclude this to be the one thing that never occured to me..
The upper transmission mount.
Its an innovative auto > manual tranny mount.. I hope this is in no way affecting the longevity of my transmission... (my last one just failed on me)
I wouldnt mind expanding the cabin where the shift linkage comes up to solve the linkage clearance, but I dont want my transmission to go sour on me because this mount wont let the transmission sit correctly.
what do you guys think??
