Default fuel filter

Ok as some of you know I have been starting my 100,000 tuneup. This involves the timing belt, water pump, belts, spark plugs, wires, dist cap, cold air intake, fuel filter. I have two questions I know I sound like a newb asking these...well I am a newb so here it goes I replaced the plugs, wires, dist cap but when it comes to replacing the fuel filter I cannot seem to get the bolts off. Is there any tricks I need to know about? I feel like I am going to break the fuel line. My last question is, do you think a cold air induction is a huge increase from stock? Or do I need more parts to get the power out of the intake? Basically if I want to mod my car where do I start?

Thanks guys!

Have you used the crow foot wrench?

I tried to get mine off about a year ago but gave up because it felt like I might damage the fuel line. So I guess I am in the same boat as you.

Is this for a 5Gen Prelude? If so, you need to use a flare crows foot. If you use a regular crows foot, you'll likely round the hex fitting because it's made of soft metal (brass more than likely). If you do it exactly as shown in the Helms manual, it's actually not that bad of a job. Just use two flare crows feet as shown, and it'll you'll be able to loosen the fittings. The top fitting is pretty easy, just make sure you replace the two crush washers to ensure there are no leaks when you install the new filter.

I've done two or three, and it's not as bad as everyone says, except on the SH!

yeah, i had trouble my first time. i loosened the fuel filter then tried loosening the fittings. i got no where and was scared as hell i was going to bend my lines. then i realized if you leave the filter in its clamp and loosen the fittings first it makes all the difference.

Actually on my SH the fuel filter was quite easy! I had the motor out!

http://Helminc.com or eBay also has them for a resonable price.

An intake will no make a noticable difference in power...bottom line. I would start at the Prelude FAQs and go from there. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/689805

Yes, you want the 'shop manual' or service manual. Don't get the electrical manual or body repair manual....

$68 is cheap. You should price the manuals for a Chevy Tahoe! Helms also publishes their manuals as well.

I know you can find pirated copies. I prefer to have a hardcopy myself.

Don't be scared. Put a good wrench on the fuel line bolt, and hold with another wrench the bolt of the fuel filter. And make that thing loose..

Just go to hondahookup.com and join their site. After you become a member there, you can download the entire helms manual from their site.

thanks for the info I grabbed it yesterday, I am still looking to get a hard copy. Watch out for admins they don't like users posting free helms.
