CROME PRO TUNING PROBLEMS PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ASAP
SO my car was tuned on crome pro, with lsvtec turbo, stock engine drag turbo kit running 12psi on 450cc injectors... car ran great!! Engine got tired so I built a gsr to replace this engine, forged pistons (je) Eagle rods, stock block, the head is a gsr with omni power stainless valvez skunk 2 valve springs, retainers and type r cams, i also changed to a mini ram manifold and a precison sc61 with 3 inch downpipe and 3 inch thermal exhaust.. my problem is while out street tuning the car, same way i did the first time, everything is good car runs great but after running the car out hard, about 8k on 6 psi when u come back down to idle and then try to drive the car bucks and surges from about 1800-3000 rpms... after 3 k the car is fine and the idle is also very low and surging... if i turn off the key and restart it the car runs fine with no issues until u run it out again,,, what could this problem be,,,, *** when the surging happens the car runs lean... please anyone with any ideas let me know
any codes? i had something similiar happen a while back...car i was tuning had the tps and iacv plugs backwards and it fried my iacv circuit on my ecu...had very similiar symptoms...sounds like it could be iacv related?

Ive had crome for 2 years now, and never ever had a problem like that.....
it could be just something stupid... I doubt its crome to be honest.

Yes, and no.
Crome is always in a perpetual beta. I always used a version ~6 months older than everyone else that I had put through the paces and gotten flawless results from. Everyone who had problems was always dealing with some new/unknown beta, wierd combo of scripts, and typically didn't understand how an EMS should function so they couldn't determine if they were dealing with something they could tune.
Crome's script engine and implementation has always been messy, and it ***** anyone except for the technically adept in the pooper. I've been handing out a .rar of known-good Crome .exe and bundled scripts for about a year now, anybody who wants it should IM or email me. Unzip, copy in your regstring if you've got Pro, and it works correctly.
FYI for the OP (FYIFTOP??), there are a lot of things that cause idle problems on cars even with Hondata or Neptune or a freaking Motec. Check for TPS being correctly adjusted (what does Crome read with throttle closed?), check for air in the cooling system, make sure the FIT-V isn't ******* you, etc. xenocron's IACV CEL 14 disable script + setting the idle with throytle stop and air bleed screw ALWAYS works, and the car idles just like stock.

OP, what version of Crome are you using? Can you post up the .bin for us to see? I had a similar problem not too long ago while I was still on Crome, car idled just fine 95% of the time, but after a hard pull it would lope 1000-1300 lean. Never figured it out, I switched to Hondata S300 and have had no such problem.

Pffft. Stop that. I'm your average intelligent guy, nothing more, I just got in on the ground floor of the EFI tuning scene and have a few years more experience than most. There are plenty of people with a lot of knowledge out there... they just aren't postwhores.
Hondata constantly has flaws with every update, but they don't beta test on their userbase so you don't see it nearly as much. If you stick to a known good version of Crome and learn to use it it works pretty well. Idle/IACV problems are a recurring problem with Crome, though, I don't disagree with you there. There are fixes but they are mechanical bypasses as I've listed, and take 15-20 minutes time... great bargain for the budget minded DIYer, kinda sucks for the guy trying to get the job done without all the ******* around.

Yeah well I learn more from postwhores.
However I think I was still playing with my big yellow Tonka truck when you got into this stuff, yeah I'm that young.
I have only run into one weird bug with Hondata, other than that everything has worked as it's supposed to. I was surprised and annoyed to find no battery offset or cranking fuel vs ECT. I wanna get my hands and tune some people on ECtune though.
Annnd I'm off topic again, sorry OP.

I rarely touch those settings, not many cars need it. Usually the only ones that need it are super big injector cars where the spray pattern is all to hell, the cars that idle best at ¬13.8:1 due to manifold wetting.
Doug's recurve stuff for Hondata was based on seeing what worked on real live cars vs a linear recurve like you do in Crome. He might have been BSing me, but that's what I was told and Hondata always seems to idle well.

my issue is more of a driveablity issue after running it out, the idle is very low too but the big issue is it has a dead spot between 2-3k and surges and hesitates up until about 3k and when this happens the car goes lean, we tryed adding fuel at this point in the tune and this didnt help still goes lean... anyone who has any ideas where to go let me know how do i post up the bin file for my tune so u guys can look at it?
also when this issue happens if u turn the car off and then back on it runs perfectly until u run it out again, no check engine lights and a fresh engine...
