break-in period for new turbo

Default break-in period for new turbo

is there break-in period for new turbo and how many miles should it be. i'm putting the turbo in thursday and what to go racing sunday at NIRA. how many miles should i have on the turbo before i could run it hard. should i use regular oil to break-in. i was planning to use mobile tri-synthetic after the turbo is install.

it's allready broken in...turbonetics or garret balance it at high speed before they ship it..
you don't need to break it in, slap it in, and bosot...

Yup....I dunno why everyone thinks they gotta break in their turbos...the funny thing is when people think they gotta break in their "new" used motors when they have a swap hehe.

Just make sure you crank the motor over a few times to get oil flowing through the turbo before you drive on it the first time...

Even though most say you don't need to break it in, I always break in my turbos for at least 100 miles. Sure I can't resist a boost or two, but I'm easy on it at first. I don't know why, but I tend to break in just about everything.

Like cut the ignition and crank the key a few times or crank the motor by hand a few times? I guess it wouldn't really matter would it?

Unplug the coil and turn the car over a couple of times.
