Stripped Head Bolt...
I'm rebuilding an h22a4 motor and the head bolts are torqued down way past the stock specs...it took a long time to get the 9 out of 10 bolts out and apparently the socket was worn down so much that it broke on the 10th and semi stripped the bolt..after that 4 other sockets were broken along with a craftsman ratchet lol...any suggestions or tips to get the bolt out???
Thanks for your help!

I think "stripped bolt" usually refers to the threads, but if the hex head is rounded off you can drill into the bolt head to cut it off the shank. Maybe drill a 1/4" hole in the center of the bolt head, then maybe a 1/2" drill (or something bigger than the shank). Go deep enough to cut the bolt head off but don't hit the cylinder head. There is a washer to give you some margin for error. Wear safety glasses etc. Once the bolt head pops off you can remove the cylinder head and there should be a long exposed section of bolt shank you can go to town on with channel locks or monkey wrenches to remove it from the block. Check the cylinder head and block for warping once you get it apart.

Craftsmen makes a socket set that is swirled. what happens is you take this socket, big *** breaker bar or impact hammer and start gunning away. the swirl in the socket will force the socket on, and it will not let go until its out. pretty nifty.
