10 , 12 , 14 gauge wires? whats the difference and which one do i need?
as i need to rewire the engine harness for my jdm b16a engine.
cause the plugs and connectors are totally opposite to usa eg civic model
i went to auto parts store this monring..i found out that
they have 10 , 12 , 14 gauge wires.and they all look the same to me
what are the difference and which one do i need
i need to extend the wires for the 2 connectors on the firewall on driver side..
for 92 civic si hatchback

Those are gauge sizes, the lower the number the thicker the wire. You dont want to be around 10,12, or 14 if your doing an engine harness. I use 18 or 16. If you have both harness's just pluck some wires off the unused harness. Thats what i do.
you might want to try and ask this in the audio visual section. I know it doesn't even seem related but those guys know a lot about electrical stuff.
I would say try that. I doubt you need anything bigger than a 16 gauge though since you are not really flowing current, just the signal, but I could be wrong.
