So the other day I installed some aftermarket LED tail lights. They're bascially OEM look alike except bulbs are replaced with LEDs. Heres a crappy 1.3MP pic of it from a camera phone.

But anyways after I installed it my "brake lamp" light turned on whenever I press down the brake pedal. This red indicator is located under the trunk and door open/close indicator. Then it stays on until I turn the car off and on again...

This indicator came on once when I thumped my music to hard, I guess the rattle from subwoofers loosened the brake lamp wire slightly. So at that time I just pluged it out and back in and the indicator turned off. But after the installation of LED tail lights the signs always stays on.

Any suggestions?

 

the "light bulb out" circuit thinks a light bulb is not working because of the lowered impedance of the LED circuit.

You have to add some resistors to the circuit to trick it into not going on

 

yeah... LEDs don't draw enough power. same on my 96 accord.. the car thinks the bulb is out but it's just the LEDs.

Does anyone have a schematic/diagram of how this is wired in?

Yea, just give me a couple of hours, its still daylight here in FL. I'll take a pic of it once its darker outside.

 

Take a pic during the day too if you can. I'd like to see both day and night shots.
