Do i need to hone my block?
hey guys i figured i would ask here because a lot of you have rebuilt your motors for boost. i bought a b16 a little while back and have been planning on just changing out the headstuds with some arp's and boosting it stock. the motor sat for a while with its previous owner and there were no spark plugs installed. with the head off, there was some rust looking stuff on the top of the piston and around the valves. that all came off with a towel, but the top of the cylinder on the inside has some on it that wont rub off. should i get this honed out or can i run it as is? i figure i should definitely fix it but if i do i want to use forged components. before spending a lot i figured id ask
thanks
thanks
get some oil and rub it on with your finger.... and turn your motor over by hand and see if it goes away... get as much off as possible first...
