What to do with a B18c1 with bad LMAs?
Alright, I have a B18c1 with bad LMAs? The clicking from the bad LMAs drives me nuts. I am 99% sure is from bad LMAs... not just unadjusted valves. Ive tried adjusting them a few times already.
I want to know what I should do. Just replace the LMAs? or buy a new head?

I wanted to just replace the LMAs, but apparently it costs alot. I was quoted in the range of 800 to 1000. I can get a used for alot less then that.
Do you know what is involved in replacing the LMAs?

800 to 1000 just for LMAs? what a rip off.
To replace LMAs:
dip new LMAs into oil
remove cams
lift back rocker arms (if i recall correctly, if not you'll have to remove the rockers which isn't that much more work)
remove and replace LMAs
reverse of removal
I like to put a bit of oil in that round pocket where the LMA goes in before i install it.
Should take about 1-2 hrs. Have a veteran or good manual around if it's your first time. As always, torque bolts properly, make sure cams and crank are aligned right, tension t-belt properly, check ignition timing, etc. Have fun

ingrate - Thanks for the info . Doesn't sound too bad. I might attempt this job myself.
After doing some research.. looks like I can use H22 LMAs with washers. Gonna look into this more
