i hate waiting to reach 5K miles
yes it is taking forever! i anticipate drving my SI 20-25k a year but so far im only at 3800 (took delivery 4/15)
weird to be unhappy bout "low mileage" and wanting to rack up more miles quicker. but the amsoil for the motor and tranny has been sitting in my room for a month...dying to get some good fluids in her
in the past i have dropped the break in oil fairly early (1500-3000) but im holding out this time. gonna do 5k mile oil/fitler changes and tire rotations. ok my rant is done...happy driving

When should you switch out the tranny fluid? And what kinda does the trick for the Grinding in thrid? (@#%@#$%@#$ Poping out and @#$%@#%@#%@ Grinding every @#%in morning)

I don't really have much notchiness except when its really cold. I changed my break-in fluid at ~3000 miles. Typically change the synthetic ~3000-4000 miles being that 95% of my driving is highway.

I changed at 12K miles and used the newer Honda HB MTF. All my shift problems went away.

can't wait either,i am now at my 380,shifting at 2.5,
not exceeding 4 at revs, not going faster than 65-70mph
either.
i am driving really slow,to make sure that i get everything
right this time, will be driving to san diego in two weeks,
need to put in at least 1K.
when should i change my oil? tranny oil? rotate? i heard that
i should change the first at 3K and follow the maintenance
minder afterwards.
You change your oil depending on your driving conditions. If you do alot of stop and go city driving, it's best to change it AT LEAST 2,500/3,000.....synthetic or not. Highway is a different story though, as long as you don't rag on it too hard. You should rotate your tires every other oil change, so about every 6,000 miles. Tranny oil about 60,000....again, it's all about how you drive your car.

tranny fluid needs to be changed between 30k-36k miles depending on driving conditions maintence minder sub code 3. as for oil changes do it when it gets to 15%. with the maintence minder it almost always calls for a rotate every oil change since it allows you to go for about 4k-6k between services.

The maintenance minder is BS. After my first oil change, I drove it for 3 months and only racked up 2,550 miles of in-city driving and it only was down to 60%. That was with Honda conventional 5W-30. Low milage or not, oil should be changed after at least 3 months.

Thank you. Even before the maintenance minder was introduced on 04 TL's ir was still recommended that all fluids be changed at 30,000 mile intervals. Trans, front and rear diffs, and brake fluid.

Dude I went to the service center for my first oil change, I had 3800 mile on it (bought 4/15/07) 30% oil life left. they told me to wait till i was down to 5%.
i was told that the oil they put in the SI's from the dealerships was not to the right specs. some about w30 or something like that was really supposed to be 35, and all the books in the service centers said the worng thing yet your manual says different. anyway, if anyone heard that please let me know what it is. i just bought SI a little while ago and want to make sure i do the right thing for it's first oil change
