Yes, running the wrong ecu can cause problems. The p72 and p28 will lead to lean conditions.

Run your p13 ecu unless you are running some sort of EMS with the P72/p28 ecu.

It will run the engine lean, not give it enough gas). There are a few other things it won't do correctly but I can't remember what they are... lol.

A p14 is for 240cc injectors and your 98 h22 has 290cc injectors unless you swapped them out for the obd1 injectors. Also, the obd1 vtec h22 has 345cc injectors. The p13 ecu is for obd1 345cc injectors and the p28 is for 240cc injectors. The p14 ecu also does not have vtec since it is for the h23a1 motor.

Run the correct ecu for your engine unless you are getting it chipped and tuned.

When you say 98 H22, do you mean the H22A4? Also when you use a P28 it takes away the use of you Secondary Intake Runners.

I would like to know how your engine harness is set up? What are are you using from your H22A4?
