Just get a mandrel bent 2.5 exhaust with a muffler. A silencer will restrict the exhaust more than a muffler will. A muffler will quiet it down some.

Not really. At best it will pull for maybe 2000rpm more. A header would make more of a difference (as far as bolt-ons go) coupled with a catback exhaust.

Is it automatic? Automatic + Exhaust = People Hate You

I had an automatic 96 4dr LX. I put a good CAI on it, front and rear strut bars, rear lower tie bar, front sway bar and endlinks, and slammed it. The automatic LX is not a performance car. It was a great daily driver; comfortable, versatile, but not a car to be made faster. I never considered putting an exhaust on it because it was just noise without any significant benefit considering the car and drive train.

No, I do not think it is worth it. Honestly, it will be loud and you will not gain much of anything in performance considering that it is the old 2.2 Non-VTEC automatic. Atleast nothing you would notice seat-of-the pants.

I would take the dinero and get some JDM Headlights or something. I always wanted those for my Accord, but sold it before I could get them. I would make it a nice, clean car to drive with some JDM goods and a little suspension work. With that powerplant it won't be a race car.

I hope I have not come across as a ***** like so many other people on this site (I was just reading some of the integra threads...YIKES!) From my experience, that is the best advice I can give you.

Why do you want 2.5 piping? Your car does not need exhaust that large especially since it is probably stock. Just buy an aftermarket cat-back and you will be all set. Apexi WS2 is nice as well as Greddy and Tanabe. Just search and you will find your answer because this has been covered countless times.

Yeah thats kind of what I'm wondering. Why such a big pipe? Why not just buy a cat-back? I have an Invidia on my EX and it's pretty darn loud even with a muffler. I run the silencer in it to quiet it down a little. If you want loud just go with a system like this or a Skunk 2 which is supposed to be basically the same although I think it comes straight out the back instead of at an angle. The Apexi N1 on custom piping would be a similar setup and all would be pretty loud. If you just want it for preformance reasons I'd get a catback like the Apexi WS2. May not look as good to some people me included but would be fairly quiet and still help the exhaust flow. I almost went that way and sometimes wish I did as mine is too loud sometimes but at other times I like it being loud.
