Default LS swap.

Hey guys. I currently have a 92 Civic Si, with a z6 motor in it, making 125.2 whp tuned with a VAFC-2. My friend has a stock LS motor with good compression and lower km's than mine. Would swapping this motor into my car be a lateral move? I won't be doing anything crazy to it.

a stock LS would be about as strong as what you have now but has much more potential.

It would, in stock form be a lateral move horsepower wise. Now torque wise you'd be leaping forward.
I agree with iVTEC on the potential portion. Lots of potential. They respond very well to mods and if your gonna do basic bolts ons and tune it you can make some good horsepower and TORQUE!

B19Coupe is nasty with non-vtecs. Totally stock high mileage LS and comes away with 175 whp and 151 tq.

wow, thanks guys. I will consider.
The only thing is, the LS is an OBD-0, and I am OBD-1 :S. Should stick with my D hey?

yup youd have as much power on a STOCK set up...with i/h/e....you can get up to 8-10 whp...so id say around 140 whp.. other that that you have more torque that a B16a...and usualy these motors are not very expensive...

do you mind sharing how much your gonna pay for it?

sure, well it is a free motor with trans and great compression across the board. it has low mileage, (lower than mine at 200,000 km's).
The only thing is that it's OBD-0 and I am obd01. Is it still worth it?
