Default *sigh* bad vibrations

ok... so I've searched this topic and they all point to one thing.. axles... but here is what is happening and what I have done to troubleshoot this issue.

1. car vibrates on acceleration only when over 50 mph in any gear (2-5).
2. vibration does not come from the front of the car. (I do not feel it in the steering wheel).
3. did a recent rear disk conversion from a gsr... vibration was NOT present after this swap nor after the 4wheel alignment.. It just appeared one day out of the blue..

I have jacked up the front of the car and accelerated up to 90-100 with no vibrations.. tires are very well balanced.
This ensured me that it was not the front end.

I have moved the front tires to the back and done the same thing... well balanced tires..

now.. I know I have a bent rim but here is the kicker... I pulled that rim and put on a spare.. still vibrates.. besides if it were a rim or tire it would do it all the time, not just under acceleration.

bad vibration under accel coming from the rear of the car mainly the passenger side. help please

Not smart, if your floor jacks failed and one of the wheels caught on the ground, you and your garage would be totally fucked.

smart *** remarks need not apply

besides I was a little smarter than that and faced the car outwards and chalked the rear tires... there is a huge parking lot outside my garage.

its gonna be either soggy engine mounts or an axle.

the long short axle setup on sohc's make them more prone to this problem than anything with equal lenght axles.

to check the axles, jack the car up, place jackstands under the car, grab the axle and check for UP AND DOWN play (not in and out) vertical play. also grab the outer joint and the inner joint at the same time and try to rotate opposite of each other and make sure there is no slack between the 2.

did that... no shaft play....

and ive had bad engine mounts and know what they feel like.. this is different.

plus its coming from the back.. not the front... I feel it in my seat, not the steering wheel..

the vibration speeds up with car speed, not engine speed and only on accel or weight transfer to the rear of the car.

thanks for input though

nothing in the rear changes during acceleration so i think you might just be mislead. the only time you will feel it in the steering wheel is if its tire/wheel related.

mmm kay.. so I replaced one of the axles and there is no change what so ever... guess Ill change the other and see if that does it, but i'm very skeptical about this.

ok.. so my apologies.. after changing the driver side axle the vibration is now gone...
I can say I am very surprised that the driver side axle was causing vibrations on the passenger side, but I guess the transmission is more on the pass side..
Thanks for the replies.
