Default I got a new job.

I have been building scoreboards for the last three years. As glamorous as this sounds the pay sucked. I applied to a custom fabrication company. I got the job I took a welding test and They liked it.

This is what I will be doing. http://www.odomindustries.com/prod_customform.html

12 hours a day 5 days a week. Some Saturdays. 5pm to 5:30am

Ive sold them a few welders before. They paid me top dollar for them. The komatsu forklift with the fork positioner is pimp, made me go out buy a fork positioner for my forklift

Not too bad, thats what many people get after finishing 4yrs of college, except it eats up the best part of their day, and is 40hrs max.

Make sure you take pixs of the weird projects you do to build a portfolio if you ever change jobs. Hopefully you make twin hemispherical cones soemtime, that would make most interviewers giggle...

I have some questions about scoreboards! I'm making a GIGANTIC LED 7 segment display for a Draq Racing Time board. I'm curious as to how many relays you use? Do you use a relay for each segment?

Congrats but 60 hrs a week, nights and some saturdays for 17$ an hour sounds horrific to me. I hope it works out great for you though.

Depends ... do you get time & a half after 40 hours? If so, 60hrs. week = 40 hrs @ $17/hr & 20 hrs @ $25.50/hr. That would be on average $1,190/week (without taxes taken out).

I did the math 1,190 x 52 = 61,880. Not too bad for being 22.

I was a little unsure if I wanted to do it. I hate switching jobs but after I did the math and I told a few people what I would be making they told me I was an idiot if I did not take it. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by .RTErnie &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I have some questions about scoreboards! I have no idea. All I did was the steel work. I installed the video boards but they were all pre assembled usually in 20' lengths.
