Default Contingency

Has anyone recieved their contingency for NOPI this year? How long does it usually take and did you have to do anything other than filling out the paperwork at the race?

I remember joe getting a check from autometer (i think) from over a year prior.

From what I know, you have to stay on them... because, well, They are in no hurry to give away free money lol

I actually just spoke with DSS and they said they are all paid up on contingencies and I need to take it up with NOPI.

Im guessing NOPI did not send in the forms for the cont. to the companies. And im also going to guess that they did not fill out a form for Loan and I for the FL race since the finals got made up at etown we didnt have time to fill out a form in FL so NOPI said at etown they would fill another one out for us both.Has anyone else got their trophies from the make up races?

contingency payouts from the 2 BOTI and 1 NOPI race that i placed 1 or 2 at is how I'm paying for my Vegas trip.
I made calls today and yesterday.
I have made contact with:
-ACT - Daryl Sampson - 661-940-7555
-Autometer - Mike L. - 815-899-0800
-Innovative - Greg - 714-524-5246
-Supertech - Willie - 408-448-2001
-Torco - Ernie Soliz - 562-906-2120
-YoParts - Tom Masero/Frank Choi

I have not made contact with:
-Honda - Used to Daryl Quan, now, i BELIEVE it is Loretta Gamboa?

ACT - They owe me $450. Daryl has the BOTI Atco results, but not BOTI Orlando. He has NONE of the results from any of the NOPI events.
Autometer - They owe me $450. I am waiting on a callback from Mike, I don't know if he has any results.
Honda- They owe me $600. I havent been able to get ahold of anyone at 310-783-2598 (Loretta Gamboa). Does anyone know the correct contact/number?
Innovative - They owe me $300. I am waiting for a callback from Greg. I believe he has all the BOTI results.
Supertech - They owe me $300 or 900, not sure yet. Willie has all the BOTI results and checks have been cut. He is just waiting on someone from BOTI to answer a few of his questions. He said they should go out this week.
Torco - Ernie has the BOTI results. You need to check with him to see if you qualify for the way they are doing the contingency. It somewhat confused me.
YoParts - They owe me $150. Spoke with Tom yesterday, he said Frank is handling the contingency payouts for him as part of the sponsorship deal. I have not had a chance to get in touch with Frank yet.

I talked to Chris at NOPI today and he said him and Lisa are working on getting the paperwork out.

Hope this helps everyone.

like i said many times before.

you have to be on top of the contingency sponsors, as a corp they are very busy, be polite and make sure you are appreciative of them supporting you and your cause. they are the reason most of us have a smile on our face at the podium.

follow the example of rprracing. he knows what hes doing.

I think it would be a great idea for companies to put up the money before the season, win a event, add contingency to the winnings check that way the racers get their money when the need it most, before the next event. Rather than companies getting a ton of advertisement then having the racers "hunt" down their contingency.

The days of Nopi being dependable flew out the door when Glenn peaced out. What a shame

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but from the sounds of it I would not be expecting any money from Torco. Seems like they owe a ton of money to a bunch of people - some of which is payroll to ex-employees. Also they lost their sponsorship title at the Virginia Nhra race for non payment of sponsorship fees.

Hope the other companies make right at least.

racers have a respomsability as well. you cant count on the sponsors and or series coordinators to have contingency stickers. that is the responsibilty of yourself.

i personally always call 2 weeks in advance to have all the contingency sponsors send me decals

haha i have called a few companies for contingency stickers and they have responded with "if you bought the product you should have the stickers". found that humorous. oh well.

what in the hell has happened to nopi. have the pro teams at least been getting paid?
